Årets Globe Forum startar i veckan
För sjätte året i rad samlar Globe Forum världsledande experter på hållbar utveckling i Stockholm. Syfte: att hitta nya idéer och innovationer som kan vara en del i lösningen på världens stora utmaningar bl a klimatet.
Globe Forum är en mötesplats för människor som är intresserade av hållbar utveckling och som vill lyfta upp innovationer, idéer och företag som arbetar för att hitta lösningar på olika samhällsutmaningar.
Under två dagar, den 28 och 29 april äger Globe Forum rum i Stockholm och tema för årets konferens är solenergi, nanoteknik och grön IT.
Ett övergripande tema för årets Globe Forum är också mikrofinansiering och det som man kallar Gräsrotsfinansiering, eller "crowd funding".
Bland annat kan man lyssna på JD Bergeron från KIVA som berättar hur man med hjälp av gräsrotsfinansiering kan skapa en hållbar utveckling. KIVA är ett av de exempel på hur man framgångsrikt kan använda "crowd sourcing" för att få in kapital till en aktivitet eller en kampanj som många människor vill stödja. KIVA förmedlar mikrolån till sociala entreprenörer främst i Afrika, Asien och Latinamerika.
I samband med konferensen lanseras också en ny marknadsplats för gräsrotsfinansiering. Marknadsplatsen har initierats och utvecklats av Globe Forum tillsammans med flera aktörer och ska erbjuda gräsrotsfinansiering för svenska innovationsföretag inom miljöområdet.
Förra årets Forum lockade mer än 1300 företagsledare, entreprenörer, akademiker och politiska ledare från hela världen. Under hösten arrangerades Globe Forum även i Gdansk och planerade mötesplatser under 2010 förutom Stockholm är Dublin den 17-18 november.
