Det går inte att undvika. Finanskrisen och marknadens misslyckande går som en röd tråd genom seminarier, workshops och föredrag på Skoll World Forum i Oxford.

Under rubriken "Capital markets in crisis" ledde Matthew Bishop, redaktionschef på magasinet
Economist´s New York-kontor en diskussion om hur investeringar i sociala entreprenörer och sociala innovationer påverkas av krisen och om det möjligen kan vara så att sociala entreprenörer kan vara just en av lösningarna på krisen? Kan de hjälpa till att skapa en ny sorts kapitalism?

Men man behöver inte ändra ett helt finansiellt system. Det går att hoppa över de långsamma institutionerna (banker, NGO:er, regeringar) genom att skapa nya finansiella marknads- och mötesplatser online.

Det visar organisationer som Kiva, MYC4 och Global Giving.

I seminariet "Finacial power to the people" presenterade de sina online mikrofinansprogram som går ut på att du och jag kan låna ut eller skänka pengar direkt till sociala entreprenörer över hela världen.

Dessa entreprenörer är en sorts hybrid mellan webb 2.0 entreprenörer och sociala entreprenörer. De använder sig av den nya teknikens alla möjligheter för att i slutändan förändra ett system. Ord som transparens, nätverk och open source användes frekvent i diskussionerna under seminariet. Och eftersom de är just webb 2.0 entreprenörer så startade diskussionen om Open source giving redan tidigare online på Social Edge och kommer även fortsätta där efter seminariet idag.
